Phoenix prides itself on an uncompromising adherence to a set of rigorous corporate business standards. Among these are a responsibility for protecting our natural environment, supporting local businesses and the improving the quality of people’s lives. The future needs of a sustainable built environment are important determinants in all our investment decisions; as are the green credentials of our buildings as reflected in our planning, design and construction policies. These obligations are enshrined into the working practices of the company and detailed in the company’s Operations Manual. It is our intention to:

We take seriously our responsibility for the impact of our activities on the urban fabric, the environment and on those who live and work in, or visit our properties. We strive to make a positive contribution to the evolution of best practice and our buildings have a history of achieving the exacting, globally-recognised LEED and BEAM standards set by the US and Hong Kong Green Building Councils, respectively. Gramercy was Phoenix’s first building to obtain a LEED certification; Tower 535 was recognized with multiple green certificates including a LEED Provisional Silver rating and a BEAM Plus Silver rating; The Morgan was awarded a BEAM Plus Gold rating. Where we operate in geographies with less institutionalised regulatory schemes, we retain our company-wide approach to sustainable integrity.

The positive enhancement of the wider community has always been an important determinant of Phoenix’s investment programmes and the resulting strategies designed to add real-estate value. We believe that creative and innovative thinking in the investment in, and the development of high-quality and efficient buildings, will most positively impact society as a whole and the rejuvenation of the urban landscape. To deliver this, we collaborate with some of the world’s most renowned architectural practices such as Robert A. M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), international urban planning specialists and architects with acute local knowledge. Phoenix’s coherent contribution to a positive sustainable future has had the ideal dual benefit of consistent returns for our investors and a better life for those who live where we operate.
